An Etsy Wedding: Cake Toppers

one / two / three / four / five / six / seven / eight

Everyone loves a great cake topper, but Etsy artisans have a way of taking them to the nex level by creating some of the most darling wedding cake toppers ever.  From whimsical to classic, you can find almost any kind on Etsy - fancy a set of frogs or Mario and Princess Peach?  They will have it and so much more from monograms to vintage toppers to hipster couples and precious little replicas of yourself.  It's such a great way of personalizing your wedding cake and adding a touch of sparkle or fun to an otherwise serious & seriously fun event.  Here are eight of my favorites - enjoy!

Etsy Tuesday: Vintage vs. Modern Clocks

one / two / three / four / five / six

My boyfriend absolutely loves clocks, specifically because he likes to know what time it is at all times.  As a result, we have over a dozen clocks all over our apartment so that he can tell what time it is from any angle and he's been exceptionally particular to keep them all synced up.  I, on the other hand, never know what time it is and don't even think about what time it is until I see the sun coming up or going down.  I have a handful of watches I never use, and my iPhone wakes me up on most days.  Nevertheless, I do find clocks to be stylish accessories for the home and wardrobe.  They are a great way to add whimsy or sophistication to your home and really round out one's home decor style.

This week's Etsy post is thereby dedicated to clocks - vintage and modern.  Both sets are fun and stylish, but what would you choose, a retro yellow orb clock or a simple & modern wood one?

An Etsy Easter Basket

one / two / three / four / five / six / seven / eight / nine / ten / eleven

Easter is on Sunday, and what better way to celebrate it than by buying baskets and filling them with goodies for the kids! You can always choose to buy the pre-made baskets from stores, but I love personalizing them with heartfelt gifts, school supplies, and lots of yummy treats.  Besides, aren't these Etsy goods much cuter than those store-bought baskets?!

With 11 nieces and nephews, buying treats for everyone gets pretty expensive so I usually try to make them colorful eggs filled with confetti, sugar cookies with elaborate decorations, and then buy funky erasers for school from Target's dollar aisle along with little metal pails or felt baskets.  They never seem to mind what's in the basket as long as there is lots of candy.  Then of course, we all get ready for the big hunt and hide eggs all over the yard for them - eggs filled with candy, confetti, money, and even hard-boiled ones.  Last year, our littlest niece ate the entire hard-boiled egg, shell and all!  It was absolutely hilarious and no one had even noticed until she was almost done with it.  How about you - do you have any fun Easter memories?

Etsy For Men

---------------

This week's Etsy post is dedicated to the gorgeous men in our lives whom we love and adore.  It's really hard to find great gifts for men and even doing a web search for a gift guide comes up with lousy suggestions.  As a result, I really wanted to focus my attention on finding things that would work for each of the scruffy men that surround us whether they be our partners, fathers, brothers or best friends.  Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about the things I've found and purchased a few for my big brother, Bryan, who's birthday is today!

Happy Birthday, big brother!

Etsy Tuesday: Handmade Wooden Toys

This week's Etsy Tuesday is dedicated to the darling little ones who surround us but then again - who wouldn't love these cute little wooden toys?!  I am in total awe of the people who made them since their woodworking skills are amazing and on par with Ron Swanson's (which is definitely saying something).  I'm really tempted to buy a few of these and use them as home decor, especially the gnome tic-tac-toe set and the pink camera. Plus I have a few nephews & nieces on the way so I'll definitely be shopping at their Etsy stores soon!
